  1. General information

    1. Provider

      Haus des Stiftens für Unternehmen & Non-Profits gGmbH, Landshuter Allee 11, 80637 Munich (hereinafter "Haus des Stiftens") is the operator of the websites www.localgrants.communityfund.de and www.foerderprogramme.org. Haus des Stiftens provides the platforms in accordance with these terms and conditions. The offer is free of charge. Non-profit organizations can post projects or funding applications on the platform with the aim of generating donations for their charitable cause. By registering on the platform, users declare their full agreement with the conditions described here.

    2. Haus des Stiftens

      The Haus des Stiftens is recognized as a non-profit organization for the promotion of civic engagement. Against this background, the Haus des Stiftens presents applications for funding from non-profits to donors, companies and other sponsors.

    3. Amazon

      At Amazon, the focus is on the customer. The aim is to simplify their lives and contribute to their success. To this end, Amazon offers services that many already use: Customers who shop on Amazon; entrepreneurs who offer their products and inventions to millions of users; authors who publish books without a publisher; filmmakers who reach their viewers, or developers who realize their ideas through Amazon. Amazon's partners can concentrate on the essentials: their products, their content, their innovations.

      In Germany, Amazon employs more than 30,000 people at more than 80 logistics, development and corporate locations. We see ourselves as part of society and contribute to its development - especially where Amazonians live and work: through material and financial donations, volunteer work and the transfer of knowledge. And we provide support with various programs at local and national level in the digital education sector, emergency aid after disasters and give all employees the opportunity to get involved through volunteering.

    4. Objectives of the Amazon Local Grants

      At Amazon, we are committed to supporting the important work of the non-profit organization, especially in the areas of disaster relief, digital education and local aid. With the Local Grants, Amazon supports organizations nationwide in Germany that work in our neighborhoods for causes that are particularly important to us.

    5. Funding amount

      As part of Amazon Local Grants, the amount of funding is determined by Amazon.

  2. Participation and application

    1. Eligibility to participate

      Amazon Local Grants is a closed program in which only organizations nominated by Amazon can participate. These organizations must be non-profit according to the German tax code, be based in Germany and have a valid exemption notice or non-assessment certificate. Amazon is currently working with an already defined number of charitable organizations. Please note that we are currently unable to consider donation requests for the Local Grants program.

    2. Exclusion criteria

      No organizations are supported that directly or indirectly benefit a political party or a party-affiliated institution, that have a religiously motivated missionary objective or that are involved in animal protection and breeding. We also do not support associations, institutions and projects that glorify or promote violence, violate criminal laws, are pornographic, racist or discriminatory.

    3. Submission of funding requirements

      The nominated organizations formulate specific funding requirements and submit these as individual projects. It is up to Amazon to decide which projects will be funded.

    4. Promotion in accordance with the purpose of the statutes

      In addition to the submission of funding requirements by the NPO, there is also the possibility of direct funding of the organization by Amazon in accordance with the statutory purpose. By participating in Amazon Local Grants, the nominated organization agrees to this direct funding.

    5. Costs

      The registration and presentation of organization and funding needs at Amazon Local Grants is free of charge.

    6. Utilization

      By submitting the documents, the user and the non-profit organization assure that they hold all rights to the images and texts, that they have unrestricted exploitation rights to all parts of the image, that the image is free of third-party rights and that the publication does not infringe third-party rights and that no personal rights are infringed when persons are depicted. If one or more persons are recognizably depicted in the photo, the persons concerned must agree to the image being published. The user or applicant must ensure that they have these documents with them and will provide written confirmation of this on request or submit a copy of all image usage agreements (declarations of consent). Should third parties nevertheless assert claims for infringement of their rights, the applicant shall indemnify the Haus des Stiftens against all claims. Computer-edited photos may not contain any parts of images from magazines, books, purchased CDs, etc. Posting the following content or linking to it is not permitted:
      • Material that is harmful or harmful to minors or their development, in particular content that glorifies violence, is pornographic or otherwise immoral
      • Content that promotes or glorifies hatred, violence or any form of discrimination
      • Untrue statements of fact or insults
      • Vulgar or obscene expressions, disrespectful, provocative and aggressive treatment of other users
      • Misleading content
      • Calls for boycotts or unpeaceful or otherwise unlawful acts
      As soon as Haus des Stiftens becomes aware of inadmissible content or there is a suspicion of such content, it is entitled to remove this content from the platform at any time. Furthermore, it reserves the right to deactivate and delete the user account.

    7. Payout

      The Haus des Stiftens transfers the funding amount to the NGOs whose application is approved twice, at the beginning and middle of the month.

    8. Notification and payment

      Applications are reviewed by Amazon employees after the need for funding has been submitted. Where possible, applicants will be notified of the decision on their application by email within 14 days of submitting the application. Approved funding amounts will be paid out at the beginning and middle of the month exclusively to the bank account deposited with Förderprogramme.org.

  3. Legal matters

    1. Suspension of the action

      The Haus des Stiftens reserves the right to change, suspend or terminate all or part of the promotion at any time.

    2. Limitation of liability

      If a submitted image violates third-party rights, the user shall indemnify Haus des Stiftens against all third-party claims and the costs of the associated legal defense. Furthermore, Haus des Stiftens cannot be held liable for technical or organizational problems.

    4. Miscellaneous

      The platform is subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Should individual provisions of the Terms of Use be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining Terms of Use shall remain unaffected. They shall be replaced by an appropriate provision that comes closest to the purpose of the invalid provision.
